Giant 2025 Defy Advanced SL Frameset

Superlight and silky smooth, the flagship frameset of the new Defy range, the 2025 Giant Defy Advanced SL represents the pinnacle of endurance road performance. The frame and fork are both crafted from Giant’s pro-level Advanced SL-grade composite, and the new SLR D-Fuse seatpost adds a small amount of flexing action (up to 7mm) for road-smoothing compliance.

With greater lateral stiffness and a superlight weight of just 785g (size medium, frame only), this is the lightest, most efficient Defy frame ever. It’s paired with a new Advanced SL-grade fork that weighs 350g, 15 percent lighter than the previous generation Defy fork. This frameset also includes the new D-Fuse SLR seatpost, which adds 40 percent more road-smoothing compliance compared to the previous generation, and two bottle cages.

Free of cumbersome gimmickry, the frameset is one of the lightest in its category. With a perfect balance of high-performance reactivity and all-day comfort, it offers a “less is more” experience for modern endurance road riding.

Engineered compliance

Advanced-grade composite frame and fork are specifically engineered for endurance road riding, delivering a smooth and efficient ride quality that minimizes fatigue on long rides. The new D-Fuse components work together to further absorb road shocks and vibrations.

Total control

New Contact D-Fuse handlebar features ergonomic shaping and an 8-degree flare for comfort and control on all-day rides. Wide, alloy rims are optimized for high-volume tubeless tires (up to 38mm), providing predictable handling and stability from asphalt to cobbles.
